Commendation Award from Commander British Forces Joint Force Support (Afghanistan)

Mister David Rowe, Deputy Project Manager, Fluor Turner Design Management Team (DMT) Afghanistan received a Commendation award on 17 May 2011 from Brigadier AT Davis MBE, Commander British Forces Joint Force Support (JFSp) Afghanistan for Distinguished Service in support of Operation HERRICK in the Afghanistan Theatre of Operations.

Dave, an experienced Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer, joined Turner FM on 4 October 2009 and plays an important role within the Fluor Turner DMT which forms an integral part of the UK Works Group, Royal Engineers based at Camp Bastion. Within this hybrid organisation, he is responsible for project oversight, not only to ensure compliance with UK Standards, but to ensure that the MOD receives value for money. Dave was instrumental in the delivery of the Afghan Training Village within new training facility in Camp Bastion 3 which was highlighted in an earlier Turner FM news article late last year.

An extract from the Commendation Award reads;

"The selfless commitment that Mister Rowe has shown toward Operation HERRICK has highlighted not only the crutial role played by civilians in this theatre, but also that a hybrid military civillian team provides a significant force multiplier effect. He has been an indispensible member of the UK Wks Gp and an outstanding ambassador for the Fluor Turner Company group. For the selflessness and utter commitment to his post, Mister David Rowe is awarded a Commander Joint Forces Support (Afghanistan) Commendation"
